San Diego 2014 October Events Calendar

Written by Dennis Smith

Well, you survived the beginning of another school year, (or another start of fall if you don’t have kids). September has come and is almost gone. October has always been a fun month for families. If you have small kids, you know that pumpkin carving and candy are on the horizon. For those with adult children, October is full of community OktoberFests featuring beer and brats. No matter what age your kids are, San Diego is full of great October events.

Halloween isn’t the only highlight  of the 2014 October events calendar. Some major non-Halloween related events happening in San Diego include the Miramar Airshow featuring aerial demonstrations of various military planes, various Oktoberfest, including the most popular one of them all in La Mesa, the ever popular fall arts and crafts show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and the most popular street fair in San Diego, Little Italy Festa.

If Halloween is your thing the 2014 October events calendar has plenty of scary and not-so scary events for you. What is Halloween without pumpkins to carve? Be sure to stop by Bates Nut Farm to grab your pumpkins. Gear up for Halloween by attending the fun, family-friendly Boo! Parade or get your fill of frights at the Scream Zone or on a ghost hunting tour at the Whaley House. For safe Trick or Treat locations, check out India Street in downtown or Pumpkin Lane in Encinitas.

What do you like most about October? Let me know by leaving a comment below. Thanks.
