Home & Condos sales numbers plummet in January.
Prices reach new highs.

The median home price gaining 0.9% to $560,000
and the average home price gaining 5.6% to $706,496.

The median condo price rose 1.8% to $384,750
and the average condo price gained 2.1% to $427,192.

Inventory grew over the holidays and in now dropping, as is usually the case this time of the year.

News for Buyers
The inventory has increased from last year so it is easier to find the right home.  Multiple offers are still showing up on some new listings if they are priced correctly, or in areas with a shortage of homes for sale.

Many buyers were sitting on the sideline, but that is changing.  February activity picks up significantly and March is full on to the races!  If the inventory drops much from our current level, we will again have multiple offers and higher prices.

We are in the best buying position that we have been in for over 3 years.
We have very low interest rates and a larger inventory of homes.

That equates to a buying opportunity.

Dennis will be awarded a Star of Peace Award for the Lions Club Blind Surf Event
On Sunday, March 13th, the Seaside Church of Religious Science at 1603 Lake St in Cardiff will give Dennis the award at the end of both services.  This will be in conjunction with Seaside's Season for Non-Violence.

For the last 9 years, the Encinitas Lions Club has been in partnership with the San Dieguito Surfing Academy and Swami's Surf Club to host a day at the beach for the sight impaired from around San Diego County.  Last year we had 10 sight impaired guests on surf boards and 6 of them stood up!!!  Please see www.Encinitas-Lions-Club.com for pictures.

Dennis is the president of the Encinitas Lions Club and we are looking for more community minded members.  It is a great way to give back to the community.
